About
Dermopedia is an evidence-based dermatology encyclopedia, in Romanian and English. It explains skin conditions, their signs and symptoms, and the treatments used for them, in plain language and without losing rigour.
What you'll find here
- Diseases — what they are, who is affected, causes, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment.
- Signs — the lesions you can see on the skin: what they look like, where they appear and when to see a doctor.
- Symptoms — what you feel: itch, pain, numbness, and what they can mean.
- Treatments — how they work, how they are used and what to watch for.
Two levels of reading
Every page starts with the basics, written for patients and their families. Where it exists, the professional section goes further, for doctors, residents and students.
How we write
The content starts from clinical guidelines and published studies. Every page cites its sources at the end and shows when it was last reviewed, so you know how current the information is.
Can I use Dermopedia instead of seeing a doctor?
No. The content is for educational purposes and does not replace a medical consultation. If you have a skin problem, see a dermatologist; use Dermopedia to better understand what you are told.
Who is the professional section for?
For doctors, residents and medical students. Anyone can read it, but the language is specialised.
Which languages is the content available in?
In Romanian and English. You can switch language from the menu at the top right; if a page doesn't exist yet in the other language, you land on the home page.
